Virginia Lozano is a photo editor and art director based in New York. She is a senior editor at NPR, where she develops special projects and visually led stories. Previously, she led NPR’s international photo coverage, working with photojournalists around the world on stories spanning migration, politics, conflict, and culture.
Before NPR, she was a temporary photo editor at The New York Times, where she produced daily coverage of the 2020 election and worked with the Investigations desk on long-form visual stories. She has also photographed and edited for The Intercept and The Detroit News. She is an alumna of the University of Michigan.
